A Sunday morning autopsy revealed former NFL quarterback Steve McNair was the victim of homicide. He was shot twice in the head and twice in the chest.

Police have not yet determined if the woman with McNair, Sahel Kazemi, died as a result of homicide or suicide. She sustained a gunshot wound to the side of her head and a semi-automatic pistol was found on the floor under her body.

Don Aaron, a police spokesperson said, “While it is clear McNair’s death is a homicide, the police department is not classifying Kazemi’s death, pending further investigation and interviews with persons who knew here and McNair.

Aaron also told the media that both victims were fully dressed when found and the initial autopsy indicated Kazemi was not pregnant

According to the autopsy, McNair and Kazemi died in the early hours of Saturday morning, several hours before their bodies were discovered by a friend at McNair’s condominium.

Authorities are still waiting for the results of toxicology tests and ballistics tests, which should definitively indicate whether Kazemi’s wound was self-inflicted.
