The way Steve Martin explains it, being a successful actor could actually be a hindrance if switching careers to becoming a musician. The former funny guy is currently in a bluegrass band that was part of the 54th Annual Grammys celebration on Sunday night. Steve Martin And The Steep Canyon Rangers were on the red carpet for a Grammy nomination and talked up the transition from actor to musical artist.
"This is actually quite amazing. It is very hard when an actor goes into music. There is always this ‘All right.’ I think it is because a lot of actors don't want to be musicians they want to be rock stars,” explained Steve Martin on the Grammys red carpet. However, Steve knows he has a secret weapon that other stars can’t use. “Nobody wants to be a banjo player.”
Steve Martin has headlined the Steve Martin And The Steep Canyon Rangers band for several years and won Grammys in the past. Sharing that he keeps his Grammys from comedy separate from the bluegrass awards, it appears he is proud of every nomination.
