The Howard Stern Show's news department has selected Jon Leiberman to fill the sour shoes left behind by ace reporter Steve Langford.

Leiberman made his Howard 100 News debut this week while the live show is on vacation.

Leiberman has worked for multiple Baltimore based radio and television stations, but is most famous for taking a stand against his employer Sinclair Broadcasting Group when the company decided to air an anti-John Kerry documentary shortly before the 2004 election. Leiberman was also a correspondent for 'America's Most Wanted'.

Leiberman is following in some pretty well-established footsteps, but Thursday he told Twitter followers that he plans to keep up Steve Langford's tradition of ruthless investigative reporting

"I was a national correspondent at 'America's Most Wanted' for 7 years. The stern group won't be able to hide anything..."

Howard Stern Show fans were shocked last month by the sudden departure of Howard 100 News chief Steve Langford. Langford, who had been with HSS since the jump to satellite radio in 2006, quit during the show's July vacation and slipped out of the studio without even saying goodbye to the King of All Media.

Langford is now reporting for NYC radio station 101.9 RXP/FM, a rock station that is planning to move towards a 24-hour news format.

The Howard Stern Show returns live on Monday, August 8th.
