Steve Langford, the Howard Stern Show's most reknowned reporter, has quit the Show according to reports from multiple sources.
UPDATE 07/26/11: Howard Stern reveals details on Steve Langford's departure
David Langford, a reporter for Canada's London Free Press who claims to be Steve Langford's older brother, first broke the news of the HSS "Bulldog's" departure on his Twitter account, writing:
"Steve Langford has quit Howard Stern show, something that doesn't happen very often. Off to new radio venture in New York. Good luck, bro."

The real confirmation came when Wack Packer "Mariann from Brooklyn" posted a message on her Facebook page on Thursday morning:
"i put the call into steve langford and he just called me back to confirm he is starting a new job and life adventure, good luck steve, your stories were the best."
Mariann called in to Howard 101's 'Superfan Roundtable' Thursday evening to confirm the news.

Steve Langford has been part of the Howard Stern Show news team since HSS moved to Sirius satellite radio in 2006. He quickly became a Show favorite thanks to his uber-serious reporting on stories like the state of High Pitch Eric's apartment, Gary Dell'Abate's Greenwich Town Board confirmation hearings--and even a couple stories about the Howard Stern Examiner.
There has been no official statement from the Howard Stern Show on Langford jumping ship. The only acknowledgment of Langford's absence at all this week came when Howard 100 News reporter Lisa G. repeatedly stated that she's been unable to cover many Stern related stories because "we're short-staffed".
"[There's only person missing] Steve--that's it," responded Howard Stern to Lisa G's complaint with no further comment.
The Howard Stern Show has not returned a request for comment.
No details have been posted regarding the reasons behind Howard 100's ace reporter. Sounds like the Steve Langford story could benefit from some real investigative reporting. Like say--from Steve Langford.
