Talk show host and comedian Steve Harvey had a breakdown during a segment on his show this week. Luckily, this was a good kind of breakdown, as Harvey was surprised by a man the producers had call in to the show. The Inquisitr shared the details on Jan. 23.
The producers set up Harvey during the show to help him celebrate his birthday. The video of Steve Harvey's breakdown shows that Steve was reading the cue card announcing the surprise call and said he doesn't like surprises. Harvey seemed to have no idea what was about to happen, and he clearly looked a bit apprehensive. Then a man named Rich Liss was on the phone, and Steve Harvey's breakdown began almost immediately.
Harvey went on to explain that the Liss family helped him when he was 26 years old and struggling to get by in life. Rich Liss and his wife Becky took Harvey in and helped him with expenses as Steve tried to break into the comedy industry. Steve Harvey says he's been looking for Rich and Becky Liss for years, and he is happy to be back in touch. He says he's never forgotten them and what they've done for him.
During the time that Rich and Becky Liss helped Steve, he ended up running up $11,000 in travel bills that they covered. During Steve Harvey's breakdown he says he's anxious to get that paid back.
