A recent Steve Harvey breakdown caught on camera during the taping of one of his shows has gone viral this week, amassing almost 2 million views on YouTube.
Here’s what happened if you missed it. Steve Harvey, who is the host of “Family Feud” and has managed to become one of the better comedians living today, has also managed to transition into being a successful entrepreneur.
But despite all that success, Harvey has never once forgotten where he came from. And on this particular episode of the Steve Harvey daytime talk show, his past came back for a brief reunion.
In the clip, Steve is reunited with a man who helped provide him with shelter and tons of encouragement when he was coming up. Having entered the comedy game at the fairly late age of 27, Steve was overcome with emotion when he heard a man on the other end of the phone that helped support him during his darkest and toughest moments as a young man.
Steve recounts the story, while also explaining his breakdown, below:
“I was twenty six years old, struggling. I didn’t have nothing and these people owned a furniture store in Cleveland. They took me in and gave me a contract with my little carpet cleaning company. When I became a comedian at 27, I didn’t have money to travel. They gave me an account at their travel agency and I ran up a bill that was $11,000 just traveling and try to make it. Those people right there, they helped me out!”
