The internet has been torn apart by fans since August, since electro musician/producer Steve Aoki and grammy award winning alternative rock group, Linkin Park have teased their first collaboration and new single, "A Light That Never Comes." To finally put fans at ease, the two artists have announced on their websites that the single's studio version can be found by playing the new, and free Facebook game "LP Recharge."
Initially, the song was a surprise unveiled during the Summer Sonic festival in Tokyo last month, during which Mike Shinoda and Chester Bennington from Linkin Park had joined him on stage. Naturally, as with most events, this surprise ended up on Youtube in the form of subpar quality cell phone recordings. While fans have since searched high and low for the studio version, they will have to work just a little more to unlock it.
"A Light That Never Comes" will be featured on Linkin Park's upcoming album, Recharged, which drops October 29th. Limited edition box sets, of which there are only 500 globally, will include an interactive 3D sculpture, magnetic stylus, and a 48-page art book 2 CD folio pack. Preorders begin Sept. 16 at www.linkinpark.com.
Steve Aoki, a grammy nominated producer whose newest single “Boneless,” hit #1 on Beatport, will be launching his Aokify America Tour with Borgore and Waka Flocka Flame (and Pharrell Williams on select dates), which is set to travel across major venues and amphitheaters throughout the U.S. and Canada. Check out tour dates at his website, www.steveaoki.com.
