Stevan Ridley is out for the New England Patriots this weekend. Ridley has been ruled out with a knee injury, meaning he won't suit up against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday (Oct. 6). According to a report from ESPN late Friday (Oct. 4), the starting running back for the Patriots hasn't been able to practice with the team all week.

It hasn't been a spectacular season for him on the ground, as he has managed just 174 yards on 47 carries over the first four games. He also hasn't scored a rushing touchdown for the team, making it hard for them to put up a lot of points. His average only works out to 3.7 yards per carry so far, likely frustrating any fantasy football owner that invested heavily in him on draft day.

With Stevan Ridley out for the Week 5 game, the carries will fall to LeGarrette Blount or Brandon Bolden. Bolden is nursing his own knee injury, leading to him being listed as questionable for the game. That could turn into a huge push for Blount, especially if the offense tries to run the ball a lot against the Bengals.

Going up against a tough run defense from the Bengals makes it difficult to go with Blount or Bolden in Week 5. Though they may be available on waiver wires in many leagues, this might be a really difficult week for either one to put up respectable numbers. As for Ridley, though, he has to be replaced in all lineups.
