"…from the mouth of the Southern bulldyke asshloe ingrate of a vicious nowhere cnut can this trash come" . (Apologies for the spelling. Had we not transposed the letters in the "c" word and the "a" word, the post would have been rejected.)
Oh David Mamet, how you put us in the spirit of Christmas. The above quote - said by Teach (without the transposed letters) in the testosterone-frenzied cassic American Buffalo - is one of the milder exhortations in the thing. For most of American Buffalo's riproaring 90 minutes, Mamet gets really nasty. And hilarious. The playwright's brutal brilliance shines through in Steppenwolf Theatre's production of the play, thanks to director Amy Morton, who helms the thing to ballsy perfection and the pitch-perfect casat of Patrick Andrews, Francis Guinan and Tracy motherf$%^&! Letts. To read our full review of the feel-good hit of the holiday season, click here.
And A Merry @#$%^&*! to all.
