CBS is currently filming a 13-part series based on Stephen King's novel, "Under the Dome," about a mysterious dome that covers a small town in Maine. Instead of taping the series in Maine, they are taping in Wilmington, Burgaw and Southport, North Carolina.
If you're interested in being an extra in the film, or possibly a stand-in, you should keep checking Vanessea Ncasting's Facebook page. She posts daily notes like this one, from March 15:
"EMERGENCY CASTING CALL: I Need a cacasian female blonde 5ft 1- 5ft 3 to work as a stand in today in the Currie, NC area at 2:45. Please email me a photo, age, phone number, height, location, and any previous stand in experience. Utdextras@gmail.com subject line 'Emergency Stand-in.'"
Don't respond to that one, but that's the kind of notice she posts. "Utd" refers to "Under the Dome," so keep checking out that page for any UTD casting notices that may apply to you.
According to the Wilmington Star News, UTD filming started on February 28. Production is based at Wilmington’s EUE/Screen Gems Studios, but filming is also being done around the area.
"Under the Dome" stars Dean Norris ("Breaking Bad") as Jim Rennie, Mike Vogel as Dale Barbara, Rachelle Lefevre as Julia, Alexander Koch as Junior, Britt Robertson as Angie, Natalie Martinez as Linda, Mackenzie Lintz as Norrie, Colin Ford as Joe and Aisha Hinds as Carolyn.
The series will premiere at 10 p.m. Monday, June 24 on CBS.
