Stephen Colbert, host of "The Colbert Report" saved the Olympics and is being honored with the cover of Sports Illustrated this week.

The issue, hitting newsstands Wednesday, is in honor of Colbert's show, himself and fans for their efforts in helping to "save the Olympics".

Last month, Colbert encouraged his fans to save the U.S. Olympic Speedskating team and raised more than $250,000 in contributions to become the official primary sponsor the team.

According to reports, the team’s largest annual cash sponsor, DSB Bank NV, declared bankruptcy in October and was unable to move forward with its sponsorship.

The 2010 Winter Olympics are set to start February 12, 2010 in Vancouver. Check more out here!
