As funny as Stephen Colbert's decision was to create a mock Presidential campaign around himself and Herman Cain in his home state of South Carolina, it didn't ultimately amount to very much.
For those curious, Colbert (via Cain's name on the GOP ballot Saturday) only ended up drawing 1.1% of the overall vote -- or just over 6,000 votes. While this is not enough to really matter at all, at least Colbert can brag that he got more votes than Cain than some of the other candidates whose names were on the ballot -- including Jon Huntsmand and Michele Bachmann.
As you've probably heard, Newt Gingrich scored a decisive victory in the state, which sets up a rather dramatic showdown between him and Mitt Romney moving forward to Florida.
