The Paradigm Research Group, directed by Stephen Bassett, published a press release concerning what the organization called the Citizen Hearing on Disclosure. The press release stated in part:
The Citizen Hearing on Disclosure will be produced by Paradigm Research Group and will take place between April 29 and May 3 in Washington, DC at the National Press Club where the main ballroom will be turned into a "Congressional Hearing Room." This unprecedented project will bring top researchers from around the world along with government/agency witnesses to testify for 30 hours over five days before former members of the United States Congress. The subject of this hearing is an extraterrestrial presence engaging the human race.
'Orlando Paranormal Examiner' obtained permission via email from Mr. Bassett to ask some questions about the event and publish his answers. Following were initial questions posed and his responses:
What will be different about the Citizen Hearing than similar such events conducted in the past?
While there have been a number of press conferences in the past, including many at the National Press Club, this is a much larger event and is not a press conference. It is a mock hearing with former members of the U.S. Congress sitting in committee. In size, scope and inclusion of former Congressional members, the CH is unprecedented.
Who are the former members of Congress that will attend?
The selection process is ongoing. They will be announced later this year.
What will the roles be of the former members of Congress?
They will conduct themselves in the same manner they did when sitting in committee on hearings during their tenure in Congress. They will listen to the testimony and ask whatever questions they wish.
What specifically does PRG hope to achieve and how will it be measured?
The goal of the Citizen Hearing on Disclosure is the end of the truth embargo in 2013. That said, the CH will greatly increase the worldwide awareness of the worldwide movement to end the ET truth embargo.
How would you suggest members of the public at large judge if the CH was a success when deciding whether or not they support such future projects?
If the Citizen Hearing moves the world closer to Disclosure, it is a success. Each person will make their own judgment in that regard. It is not easy to assess progress when dealing in areas of governmental secrecy and propaganda.
Two follow up questions were submitted. Bassett was requested to please define 'the end of the truth embargo', identified as the goal of the hearing. Further inquiry was also made into his repeated yet unspecific references to the participation of former members of Congress. "Do you or do you not currently have former members of Congress committed to participating in the hearing," he was asked, "and, if so, why not name them?"
Bassett replied, "The end of the truth embargo is Disclosure - the formal acknowledgment of an extraterrestrial presence engaging the human race by world governments." He did not address the request to clarify his statements about the involvement of former members of Congress.
At that point Bassett was thanked for providing the definition. The question he failed to acknowledge was reiterated, "So, do you or do you not currently have former members of Congress committed to participating in the hearing, and, if so, why not disclose their names?"
Disclosure activist Stephen Bassett again did not address the question and no further emails were received.
