Stephen Amell not joining big screen 'Justice League' as Green Arrow

He is aiming for justice as the CW's Arrow, but don't expect Stephen Amell to hit his mark with Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman on the big screen sometime in the near future.

According to Access Hollywood, the actor set the record straight to his fans on Facebook on the rumors that he is interested of playing the Emerald Archer in the planned big-screen version of the Justice League -- none of which is true.

Amell, who turned down the role of brooding bad-boy billionaire Christian Grey in the upcoming adaptation of 50 Shades of Grey, is in his second season of Arrow playing another type of brooding bad-boy billionaire -- except this one has an alter-ego. After living on an island for five years, Oliver Queen returns to Starling City as the Arrow, a modern-day Robin Hood who fights crime, corruption, and injustice.

Like the Man of Steel, the Dark Knight Detective, and the Amazonian warrior princess, Green Arrow is one of the founding members of the Justice League, Earth's greatest champions against the forces of evil. He even formed the League when Justin Hartley played Queen/Arrow for five years on CW's Smallville with Tom Welling as Superman-in-training Clark Kent.
