Whole Foods is a popular place for finding healthy foods. The grocery store chain sells organic foods and green products with an emphasis natural eating and environmental safety and is known for its inventory of specialty brands not often found at other stores. The chain is also known for its in- store bars and just recently, the Whole Foods location at 2955 Kirby Drive in Houston debuted its new bar, complete with more seats and more options. The bar is named Kirbside and it is ready to serve Houston area residents with great beer, wine, food, and more.
Kirbside Bar launched officially on Friday, January 3, 2014 with a Karbach Brewing tap takeover, special offers, a raffle, and other assorted fun. Kirbside Bar plans ongoing specials to keep customers happy with different events on certain days. Here is what guests can expect:
Mondays- Pint & Pizza is the scheduled special each Monday, with a slice of pizza and a pint of beer offered for only $5 total. This special offer runs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Wednesdays- The middle day of the week has been designated Hump Day Happy Hour. Select pints of beer will be offered for only $3, wines for $4, and various foods at discounted prices. The event will run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Beer and Trivia- This event will take place on the last Friday of each month. From 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., guests can partake in trivia games with the winner awarded a $100 Whole Foods gift card.
Zoo Beats- Ever mindful of the importance of conservation, Whole Foods Kirbside Bar plans to designate the last Thursday of each month as Zoo Beats Day. All sales between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. will go toward the Houston Zoo’s conservation efforts.
Before and After You Shop
Kirbside Bar is a nice place to visit before shopping for a pint of beer, glass of wine, and some specialty food. Patrons can order food from a small menu, right at the bar, or walk to the nearby deli and other sections of the store to purchase food, then bring it to the bar area to sit down and eat. And, like with other Whole Foods locations, customers can fill a growler of beer and take it home for later consumption.
Health and More
Whole Foods is all about healthier eating and a cleaner, more sustainable planet. With the new and improved Kirbside Bar, the Whole Foods location on Kirby Drive has additional seating, more food options, and expanded beer and wine selections. It’s a nice way to begin or close your visit to Whole Foods market and a great way to sample some tasty, healthy food served with a fine craft beer or glass of wine. Be sure to check it out the next time you find yourself in the Upper Kirby Neighborhood.
