"Step 2 to a great body part 1"
By Joe Breen C.F.T.
We are in the second month of the year. The weather is still good and you are now in the groove of things. Your new start phase has gone well and you need to step up the volume. You can now get started with what we call the endurance phase. The phase will get tougher but again, not to the point you can't handle it.
In the endurance phase you will target all body parts in what we call a circuit. What that means is you will do several exercises in succession. For instance you may do two exercises for legs followed by two exercises for chest followed by two exercises for back. That would be a circuit. Then you would rest as needed. As you get more advanced you may want to take less rest periods, to give yourself a quicker break. This will in turn speed up your metabolism, and help with fat burning. You will perform each circuit 3 times and aim for 12-15 reps. By doing this you will hit the muscle from multiple angles and this will make a difference when it comes to getting that beachbody look you desire. It also allows you to rest the individual muscle groups and target them while you are fresh. At the end you will perform 1 circuit of abs with a superset of 2 exercises. Next time I will discuss how cardio and nutrition play a role in this phase. For more information on getting the most from your workouts go to www.automaticfitnessplus.com.
