Stem cell therapy helps kid with diabetes live a normal life medication-free

In a study from Cellonis Biotechnologies, based in Beijing, has shown that stem cell therapy helped a twelve year old boy with diabetes live a normal life without medication.

"Our whole family is delighted with this outcome," his mother commented in a Cellonis interview. "He is now no different from any other child at his school. There is no sign of diabetes anymore. He previously coughed a lot in spring and winter, but after the therapy we haven't seen him coughing at all. We are very pleased."

The boy hasn’t needed his insulin injections for eight months after the therapy, according to the boys doctor, Dr. Shi. It was also reported that since the therapy, the boy has grown 10cm. This is a significant milestone, because diabetic children seem to be smaller and weaker than other kids.

"Stem cell treatment is a new hope for diabetes sufferers," Dr. Shi continued. "It can replace dysfunctional pancreatic cells, getting to the root of the disease. Stem cell treatment, both for diabetes and for many other diseases, represents a new age for medicine."

There have been no side effects reported with the stem cell therapy and the therapy is suitable for people of all ages.
