Preparation meets opportunity turned into success. Chicago's Fellowship Baptist Church brought home 5 Stellar Awards in the categories: Song of the Year, CD of the Year, Choir of the Year, Traditional Choir of the Year and Recorded Music Packaging of the Year. WOW! Congratulations goes to Pastor Charles Jenkins, Rick Robinson, Kevin Vasser and Anita Wilson. Chicago's Gospel community also celebrates Rick Robinson for his Stellar Award in the category of Producer of the Year. His collaboration with several others (Gerald Haddon, Eric Dawkins, Isaac Carree and Warryn Campbell) on Isaac Carree's "Uncommon Me" album.
Throughout the Stellar Awards weekend, Chicago has been well represented with performances on stages large and small from the live Stellar Awards to Urban Soul Cafe, Chicago On Stage and the Celebrity Basketball Game. Some of Chicago Gospel royalty in attendance were Lemmie Battles, Angela Spivey, Kim Stratton, Minister Tim White, Pastor DeAndre Patterson, Donald "Buster" Woods, Jonathan McReynolds, Todd Dulaney, Anita Wilson, Pastor Charles Jenkins & Fellowship,Tony Tidwell, Johnell Nicholas, Craig Purchase, Grashovia "Grandy" Wilson, Darrell DJ Perkins, Dexter Walker and Zion Movement.
