During the Stellar Award week, the kickoff event this year was the 1st Annual Real Talent Media Group,LLC “Saving Our Youth Celebrity Basketball Game,” held at Trevecca University in Nashville, TN.
The goal was to serve as a positive outlet for youth and provide positive faith based entertainment.
The players on the red and black team consisted of your favorite gospel entertainers some old and new up and coming artists. Nashville’s very own Mt. Zion Baptist Church pastor Bishop Joseph Warren Walker, III was elected to play in the game. The roster consisted of: James Fortune, Jonathan McReynolds,Todd Dulaney, Derek Clark, Brian Courtney Wilson, Isaac Carree, Jason Nelson, Andale, Q Parker (112), Ben Tankard, Charles Jenkins, Json, Charlie Ward, and J Long.
The game was exciting to watch as we were able to view our favorite gospel entertainers up close and check out their basketball skills. The kids who attended cheered on their favorite players and danced alongside the sidelines.
As you scanned the audience you could find celebrity stylist/sister of Mary Mary Ms. Goo Goo Atkins and brother duo Kloud 9.
Issac Carree even provided a dance off against former Pretty Ricky group member J Long. ( Check it out in the video to the left.)
During halftime, the audience was provided a treat with special performances from Cheneta Jones, Keesha Rainey, Alexis Spight and Livre.
Overall, it was a great event to start the Stellar Award weekend and every player walked away as winners as they were provided medals. Of course, the black team walked away with the victory. It will be interesting to see who is in attendance and on the roster next year.
