Let the Hunger Games casting news continue!
Lionsgate confirmed today that Australian actress Stef Dawson will join the cast of the The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Parts 1 & 2.
Dawson will play District 4 victor Annie Cresta in the third and fourth installment of the YA franchise. Annie is described as a lovely young woman who struggles with her life, mentally and emotionally, after winning the 70th Hunger Games. She is in a relationship with fellow District 4 victor, Finnick Odair, played by Sam Claflin (Snow White and the Huntsman, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides).
Cast announcements for both films began last week, when Natalie Dormer (The Tudors, Game of Thrones) was confirmed for the role of Capitol film director Cressida.
Francis Lawrence is set to return for part 1 & 2 of Mockingjay, after taking over directorial duties in Catching Fire, opening on Nov. 22, 2013.
Mockingjay will follow heroine Katniss Everdeen’s (Jennifer Lawrence) journey as she leads a rebellion to bring down the corrupt government known as the Capitol.
Mockingjay: Part 1 is set to be released Nov. 21, 2014, and Mockingjay: Part 2 on Nov. 20, 2015.
