Steckel traded to Toronto for draft pick

The New Jersey Devils have announced that they have traded center David Steckel to the Toronto Maple Leafs for a fourth-round draft pick.

Steckel's short tenure with New Jersey is now over after he was acquired in a trade with Washington for Jason Arnott on February 28, 2011.

It appears that the Devils may be trying to make room to sign tryout Petr Sykora, who had a nice showing in training camp but no contract with the club. Stay tuned for further developments...
