This past weekend, we mentioned the upcoming Jump Jam and Photo Shoot at Steamboat coming up on Friday, June 13. It’s all part of Steamboat Bike Week, which runs June 9-15.
Bike Week begins with the June 9 arrival of Ride the Rockies, a statewide tour that will bring 2,000 riders to Steamboat Springs for two nights.
While the riders are in town, entertainment will be offered at Steamboat Ski Area and in downtown Steamboat, where the 5Point Film Festival will showcase outdoor adventure short films on the big screen at Tuesday’s bike-in movie.
Each day, group rides and clinics offer the chance to meet fellow cyclists, while Moots and Kent Eriksen Cycles will be offering tours of their titanium bike factories.
“Bike Week is a great opportunity to start of the biking season right with group rides, clinics and bike-themed entertainment,” said David Scully, president of the Bike Town USA board. “There’s no better place to start your season than in Bike Town USA.”
On Thursday, June 12, the Steamboat Bike Park opens for lift-served biking, with proceeds from passes going toward local IMBA Chapter Routt County Riders.
Downhill, cross country and road ride options fill the weekend. On Saturday afternoon (June 14), the base of Steamboat Ski Area hosts Savor Steamboat, offering a taste of local culinary delights and unique libations. On Sunday morning, there’s a morning outdoor Yoga for Cyclists class.
