As a business owner, when the motivation is gone or in some cases when entrepreneurs are just drained, that's when inspiration takes over. I know that sounds confusing, but let's assume that motivation is a car that keeps us going in our business and inspiration is the gasoline that keeps the car going. While owning a business is sometimes stressful, it's hard to be optimistic for every situation but it never hurts to try.
In small businesses, some entrepreneurs work themselves into a true exhaustion. Sometimes we even forget to refill on all the things that we've lost during the work week. Even if you are not self-employed you should still attempt to refill on things such as spirituality, company of positive friends and family or just things that inspires us.
Here are some tips to stay inspired:
First: Always, always surround yourself with positive influences. Remember the old cliché? Misery loves company. Well there's no room for miserable associates in the work space.
Second: Tap into your spiritual sources. Tapping into your spirituality can be going to church or reading your Bible.
Third: If you use social media for personal or business use, remember to keep it positive. If you are having a rough day send a private message via social media rather than posting your negativity for the world to see.
Fourth: Write uplifting notes to yourself. " I think I can, I think I can."
Fifth: Stay away from nay-sayers. Nay-sayers are negative people that tell you what you can't or shouldn't do. Since I've been in business, I've learned that 80% of the people that give advice are not even capable of giving advice because they lack experience.
Last but definitely not least, inspiration is contagious. When you feel inspired use those moments to inspire others. Pay it forward! Trust me it always comes back when you need it.
So what happens when all motivation is gone? Gas us with a heap of inspiration and keep it moving!
