With Colorado’s summer heat in full swing, spending much time outdoors – especially during the day – can be a bit unappealing. While the beautiful sunshine is something we love about our state, being sweaty and sunburned is not the best way to enjoy it.

To help beat the summer heat, Flatiron Crossing and Twenty Ninth Street are offering cool reasons to stay inside. At Flatiron Crossing, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is going on now. While it may seem way too early to start thinking about boots and sweaters, stocking up on these great deals now will help you easily transition into the fall season. And learn to complement new outfits by getting tips on the newest street culture and runway makeup trends from London, Tokyo and Los Angeles. From 7-9 pm on July 18, makeup artists at the MAC store in Twenty Ninth Street will show you how to create new, in style looks for eyes, lips and skin.

Both malls are this year again participating in the Great Denim Event. What better way to streamline your wardrobe and find a place for those new purchases than to donate denim you no longer wear. From July 26 – August 31, bring gently used jeans to Guest Services in Flatiron Crossing or the Management Office at Twenty Ninth Street. As a reward for your donation, you’ll receive special coupon offers from many retailers.

Then join the shopping centers for a Great Denim Event celebration – July 29 at Flatiron Crossing and August 7 at Twenty Ninth Street. Special events include a fashion show, food, beer and a concert by Chase N The Dream. To find that perfect denim fit, experts at the “jeanious bar” will be on hand to make suggestions on what will work best for your body type.
