On Sunday, the Denver Broncos hung 51 points on the Dallas Cowboys in a game that saw the fourth highest combined points in a single game. As they took to Twitter to proclaim war on their next opponent, the Jacksonville Jaguars didn't take too kindly to their words and on Monday, Oct. 7, 2013, the Jaguars shot back.
Early on Monday morning, the official Twitter of the Denver Broncos posted:
"The #Broncos' 51 points in yesterday's win are as many points as the Jaguars have scored all season."
The winless Jacksonville Jaguars weren't going to just let that go by so they got on their official Twitter account and fired back at their upcoming opponent. They fired back with the help of Ron Burgundy.
"Stay classy, Denver. RT @DenverBroncos The #Broncos' 51 points in yesterday's win are as many points as the Jaguars have scored all season."
It is going to be a game that pits completely opposite teams against one another. The Denver Broncos are 5-0 and the Jacksonville Jaguars are 0-5. The Broncos are actually favored over the Jaguars by a record-tying 28-point spread as the opening lines arrived from the Las Vegas Hotel on Monday morning.
That very number ties the highest spread of all time which was set back in 1966 by the Baltimore Colts over the expansion Atlanta Falcons.
"The Jaguars are just so awful, and the interest in betting on the Broncos has been pretty consistent," Jay Kornegay, who runs the sports book at the Las Vegas Hotel, said Sunday night. "There's a group of us here who put together the lines for each week, and it took us 10-15 minutes to debate what this number would be. Some folks didn't feel that good about making history with this."
