It's time for Spring Break again for the kids and teachers. However, not everyone is able to go out of town for the week that everyone is out of school. Have no fear, because even if a trip to the Swiss Alps is not in the budget plan this year, there is a local alternative. If you haven't been there before, heading to Bavarian Grill is a definite Plano must do.
This examiner scored an interview with the award winning restaurant owner, Juergen Mahneke. He was more than happy to discuss his current specials for the local spring breakers, some adult beverage specials for the parents and teachers and to show off the new spring menu.

The spring menu is a cultivated classic menu au Bavaria. Mr. Mahneke travels to Germany once a year, and purchases several items from the farmers there for his authentic cooking. This specialty ingredient selection has made Bavarian Grill #1 in the USA.
When a patron walks up to the restaurant, they are immediately immersed into Upscale German Style. Upon entry, the patrons are greeted by a Frauline, or a der Mann. There is a mural of the Alps painted on the wall, and patrons are encouraged to help finish the puzzles that are laid out. When a puzzle is finished, the owner puts it up on the wall, which stays there as decoration pretty much forever.
Their new Fruhlings Karte (spring dinner menu) has something for everyone. From pork skewers to roasted leg of lamb, to their famous chicken soup, this place offers traditional items with an award winning German twist.
Another amazing part of this 7 year Zagat #1 German restaurant is that they offer Booster/High Chairs, Handicap Accessible, Special Diet Friendly, Vegetarian Menu and have 4 Private Party Rooms. They offer custom birthday parties, and have a Stein Club. While examining this restaurant, two families who were members of the Stein Club took a picture for us.

Current Specials include their Dunkel and stark Bier Fest, which Mr.Mahneke states will run until Easter, 2013. When you try one of each of the Authentic Bavarian Beers, you have an opportunity to win a free Schnitzel "Braumeister Art".
