You might say the Staten Island native has made good - quickly rising up the ranks on Saturday Night Live since 2005 when he joined the program as a writer. In 2012 Colin Jost was named head writer of the New York City comedy program. He now will man the anchor desk of Weekend Update on March 1.

"Saturday Night Live announced that borough native Colin Jost will be the new man at the 'Weekend Update' anchor desk," according to a report in http://silive that was reported (Thursday, January 23) and Deadline Hollywood.

Current "Update" anchor Seth Meyers is set to host "Late Night" and will leave his anchor chair on February 1, where he sits at the 'Weekend Update' desk with Cecily Strong. "Jost will join Cecily Strong as co-anchor of the "SNL" spoof newscast on March 1." added http://silive.

"He (Jost) has also written and appears in "Staten Island Summer," an upcoming movie based on his days as a lifeguard," adds http://silive. A 2004 graduate of Harvard University, Jost was president of the Harvard Lampoon. He is a former Staten Island Advance intern, added http://silive.

Not a bad career for the young Staten Island native who has had a successful career in comedy at Saturday Night Live. Expect to hear more from Colin Jost. This comedic writer has a lot more comedy up his sleeve!
