An 86-year-old Staten Island man shot his grandson, his grandson’s girlfriend, then himself, in what the police are calling a murder-suicide today. Heriberto Pagan of Brooklyn was outside his house on Friday night when this shooting occurred, according to MSN News on March 29.

After Pagan shot his 47-year-old grandson in the head, he then turned the gun on his grandson’s 28-year old girlfriend, Claritle Christina Huerta. He shot her in the head before taking off in his car. The grandson is in critical condition at the hospital and his girlfriend was pronounced dead at the hospital upon arrival.

Police caught up with Pagen, who fled the scene in his car. By the time they found him he was dead. He was laying outside his car with a self-inflicted bullet wound in the head.

The investigation is ongoing Saturday, with very little details revealed as of yet. No one knows why this grandfather wanted to kill his grandson and the grandson’s girlfriend. There is no apparent motive behind this carnage. The grandson is in Staten Island University Hospital.
