State Theatre adds three new events to schedule

State Theatre, in New Brunswick, has added three performances to the 2013 line-up. The added performances include Sing-a-Long Grease on Sunday, February 24; pop singer-songwriter Colbie Caillat on Tuesday, March 26; and Brit Floyd on Friday, April 12. Tickets for all three shows go on sale to the general public on Friday, January 11 at 10 a.m..

Sing-a-Long Grease Movie, Sing-a-Long, Costume Contest-Sunday, February 24, 2013 at 3 p.m.

See the original John Travolta/Olivia Newton-John movie musical on a big, oversized 46-foot movie screen and sing-a-long! Brought to you by the producers of Sing-a-long Sound of Music, Sing-a-Long Grease is your chance to test your vocal range with several hundred other pink ladies, T-birds, and Sandy look-a-likes!

The event begins with a live show in which your host will lead you through a vocal warm-up, judge the fancy dress competition, and award the prizes. Costumes are not required but they are highly recommended. Tickets: $18-22

Colbie Caillat-Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at 8 p.m.

Caillat’s hits include “Bubbly,” “Lucky,” “Realize,” and “The Little Things.” Colbie Caillat’s music career first began when she started posting her music on Myspace. Her music became widespread all throughout Myspace to the point where she was the number one unsigned singer for several months.

Signed to Universal Republic Records, her first album Coco debuted in 2007 with hit singles “Bubbly,” “Realize,” and “The Little Things.” In 2008, she recorded a duet with Jason Mraz called “Lucky,” which earned her a Grammy® Award. Breakthrough, Caillat’s second album released in August of 2009, was nominated for a Grammy® for Best Pop Vocal Album and included the song “Fallin’ for You.” To date Caillat has sold over 6 million albums worldwide and over 10 million singles. Brit Floyd-Friday, April 12, 2013 at 8 p.m.

Celebrating the music of Pink Floyd, this stunning concert experience features note-for-note performances of five full album sides from The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, The Wall, The Division Bell, and Animals.

Having performed to over a half a million fans around the world since its’ first show in Liverpool, England in January 2011, The World’s Greatest Pink Floyd Show, Brit Floyd, returns to the U.S. to present P-U-L-S-E 2013, The Pink Floyd Ultimate Light & Sound Experience. Tickets: $25-45.
