State of the Union: Texans have heard it all before

Tonight is your night, that is if you’re a card carrying member of the low information, none information or dumbed down society of the country. You will get to sustain your misery, through the words of your own demise.

President B.H. Obama will deliver yet another familiar State of the Union address with the focus on some very familiar subjects, such as, immigration, guns, jobs, balanced deficit reduction and energy independence. Which is nothing considered unfamiliar to most of the country, but rather, something new, something old or something borrowed from previous State of the Union addresses.

On immigration, how many broken promises have the hopefuls witnessed? Four straight State of the Unions, four straight years of promises and two administration’s determination of moving forward and yet, the low information, none information and the dumbed down segments of society will be glued to the big screens.

If amnesty becomes law, Republicans, including Sen. Marco Rubio can clean out their desk, box up their belongings, turn off the lights and head home.

Gun control adds the theatrics to this State of the Union. Obama continues the wish to be considered for an ‘Oscar,’ but his theatrics are elementary at best. In Texas it goes like this. We cling to our religion, our bibles, our families and our guns. ‘Don’t mess with Texas.’

On the jobs front, perhaps the low information, none information and dumbed down segments of society are still clinging to that hope and change, but for the rest of the country, they’ve heard it all before. Obama will venture backwards to those shovel ready jobs again.

A balanced deficit reduction is something new, even by this administration’s standards, but it’s another one of those, wishful thinking scenarios. Obama wants to continue spending and that will defeat the purpose of a balanced deficit reduction.

Finally, Energy independence? Yeah right. If Obama was sincere about that one, the Keystone Pipeline would be very close to providing that, but as for those of us who are blessed with common sense, we know there will never be anything associated with this administration, with the term ‘independence’ attached to it.

Texans have heard it all before and know, there’s more to a Tuesday evening than watching a grown man pretend to be an adult.
