A judge has ruled that the state of Texas can seize the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints compound founded by polygamist leader Warren Jeffs. It is the same location where Warren Jeffs committed vile sexual crimes against underage victims.

Warren Jeffs was convicted of sexual assault of two young girls, ages 12 and 14. Jeffs claims that they are his “spiritual brides.” Jeffs also fathered a child with a 15 year-old girl according to DNA evidence presented at his trial.

Warren Jeffs is now serving a life sentence plus 20 years in a Texas prison for child sex assault.

Judge Barbara Walther entered a default judgment giving the state the legal ability to seize the ranch. Walther wrote, “Therefore, there being no remaining issues or parties in this case, the Court hereby renders Final Judgment of Forfeiture and the terms of the default judgment and judgment concerning ad valorem taxes are merged into this final judgment.”
