I met a woman this week who shared her personal state of emergency. She has been out of work for a number of years. She feels that because of her age, finding employment is next to impossible, even though she has a college degree. Her unsuccessful job search has left her discouraged and facing her own state of emergency, as she is living on a very limited income. This has been the dilemma of many who have been hard hit by the economy.
Last week, Governor Nathan Deal declared a state of emergency for two counties, Bartow and Gordon, north of Atlanta, last week, as a result of severe weather that produced a tornado that was blamed for the death of at least one man in Adairsville.
Today, areas of the northeast are under a state of emergency, as a super winter storm is expected to drop two to three feet of snow. Many scrambled to get food, water, candles, and other necessities in anticipation of the storm. 3,500 flights have been cancelled in New England, as Nemo, a blizzard hits area. 40 million are expected to be affected by this storm, while some from Super Storm Sandy are still without heat.
In the past few years, we have experienced many instances in the nation that have called for a state of emergency in various places.
There is coming a day that many are looking forward to, while it will leave the world in a state of emergency. Some are looking for the rapture of the church. Others are not aware of it. According to the signs spoken of in Matthew, we are living in the days spoken of. The world will be in a state of emergency as millions of Christians, also knows as believers are taken away in the rapture. Cars will be abandoned by their drivers. Planes will be left with no pilot. Children and believers will leave this world, without warning.
“But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.” Matthew 24:36-44 (KJV)
Some believe that they will have the opportunity to be saved during the tribulation, but not if they know the truth and reject it now. But that could be a very dangerous position to take with eternal ramifications.
“And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:” II Thessalonians 2:10-11 (KJV)
A state of emergency can come to anyone at anytime, there is a state of emergency that is avoidable. It is to be ready for the coming of the Lord; to receive the pardon that He richly offers to all.
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13 (KJV)
