Police in Riverside, Ill., are hoping that the public will help them find out who abandoned a caged, skinny dog outside in a parking lot on Wednesday night, reported Thursday's CBS Chicago News.
It was freezing outside when the gaunt pit bull, named "Cheff," was found in the parking lot of the MacNeal Professional Building in Riverside. Whoever left the dog there also left a bag of food on top of his cage along with a note stating what the dog's name was.
Police Chief Tom Weitzel told CBS Chicago News:
The dog was extremely skinny,
“You can see the full rib cage on the dog. So, it has not been fed for some time.”
Cheff has been taken to a veterinary clinic in Berwyn to be treated and cared for.
Anyone who recognizes this dog, or who has information about who he may belong to is asked to call the police at: (708) 447-2127 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
