Starting salaries jump for U.S. graduates

The National Association of Colleges and Employers is a professional non-profit association whose goal is to support college and university graduates become workforce bound. Their January 2013 “Salary Survey” puts forth great insight regarding the starting salaries of 2012 college grads.

The reported 3.4% increase in starting salaries (compared to 2011) is a slight but significant sign of job market improvement. Take a look at this breakdown:

4.2% increase ($53,900 avg. starting)

4.1% increase ($43,717 avg. starting)

3.9% increase ($61,913 avg. starting)

3.9% increase ($49,196 avg. starting)

3.8% increase ($59,221 avg. starting)

  • Math and Sciences

2.7% increase ($42,471 avg. starting)

2% increase ($36,988 avg. starting)
