Start your year off right with the Loop the Lake race

The West Texas Running Club will host the Loop the Lake 2-mile and 5-mile races on Saturday, January 12th. Both races begin at Buddy Holly Park (N University and Canyon Lakes Dr) with the 5-mile starting at 10am and the 2-mile starting about 5 minutes after. This is a great race throughout the park on a mostly-flat loop course. The cost is $5 for running club members and children under 12 and $15 for non-members. Membership for the year is $15 for an individual, $10 for an individual student and $15 + $3 per additional member for families. Club membership is a great way to save some money. Members also have the chance to compete in the club’s challenge series and 66 mile club.
Registration is online only with no race day registration. Online registration ends Thursday, January 10th at 6pm. Bib pickup is at the race site prior to 9:30am. Runners must be 13 to run the 5-mile race. No dogs, skates or strollers are allowed on the course. These races couldn't be put on without the help of volunteers.
