The good thing about a holiday weekend (i.e. Labor Day) is that the next weekend comes a day sooner. With the weather still being ideal for taking time to be out and about, a mature pursuit of many is that of wine tasting. In getting a better understanding of the kinds of wines that can be paired with different foods, along with a stronger sense of how one's palette can be appealed to, it is a growing way to enjoy a good outing.
This Saturday, September 7th, the wine tasting taking place at the Marietta Wine Market is about about raising awareness and raising funds for a good cause, specifically for the metro-area nonprofit Tomorrow's Luminaries Foundation. It is from 2-4pm and patrons are simply asked to provide a donation in order to participate.
But there's more to it than enjoying a beverage or two for a good cause. As an added bonus, for the foundation's upcoming charity polo match (on September 22nd) taking place at the Chukkar Farm Polo Club, there is the opportunity for a patron to win two tickets for this event.
Proceeds from the tasting support the foundation's programs. With hands-on seminars ranging from college awareness programs and others grounded in providing opportunities in literacy and leadership, the board and staff of the foundation are committed with providing sound and effective means in reaching out to the community.
Don't wait until tomorrow to lend support; keep Saturday in your sights.
