Start the month of April with spiritual events around Columbus

As of April 4, 2014 these are some of the spiritual events scheduled for the next few weeks in and around Columbus, OH. New events include Sunday morning chanting at the Christian Spiritualist Temple and the first Sunday Drumz Circle at Franklin Park Conservatory for 2014.

April 5, 2014 1st Saturday spiritual forum happens at the Christian Spiritualist Temple at 77 S. Sixth Street, Columbus, OH 43215 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. $20 is the admission price for two or more readings, energy healing such as Reiki, massage or reflexology, and lunch. There is a discount coupon at the church website that provides admission of two people for $30.

April 5, 2014 1st Saturday In Spirit Ministries chanting is held at the First Unitarian Universalist Church at 93 W. Weisheimer Road, Columbus, OH 43214 at 5:00 p.m. This is a group of talented musicians that provide uplifting music at each concert. A love offering is collected to defer expenses, and your contribution is greatly appreciated.

April 6, 2014 chanting is being done from 10:15 to 10:45 a.m. before the regular Sunday service at Christian Spiritualist Temple. Chants are done in English or Sanskrit, with some done all together and some done as traditional call and response. This is training for upcoming kirtan that will be done after Sunday service or on selected Saturday nights.

April 6, 2014 Sunday Drumz is starting early for the summer of 2014. This is held behind the main building at Franklin Park Conservatory, 1777 E. Broad St., Columbus, OH 43203. The drumming will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6 p.m. It is open to drummers of all skill levels.

April 26, 2014 Light in the Woods Spring Concert on Saturday April 26, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. This is an annual event with excellent musicians and high spiritual energy. The location is the Seventh Day Adventist Church at 385 E. Dublin-Granville Rd., (Route 161 east of High St.) Worthington, OH 43085. The theme is Love is in the Air. Love offerings are appreciated to help defray costs. Rev. Tere Banks is the leader.

May 8 – 10, 2014 SNAP! (Serving Non-profit Associations by Performing) The Façade at the Ballet Met Performance Space at 332 Mt. Vernon Ave., Columbus, OH 43215. SNAP is an all-volunteer cast of singers, dancers & performers who use their talents to improve Columbus, “The Façade” – is going to blow your mind!

There are four performances:

  • Thursday, May 8 @ 8pm
  • Friday, May 9 @ 8pm
  • Saturday, May 10 @ 2pm and 8pm

May 18, 2014 has Ben Gleisser of Toronto, Ontario giving a lecture at the Christian Spiritualist Temple on Shape Shifting. Carolyn Molnar is providing Spirit-Inspired Messages after the regular Sunday service for a fee of $20. You can see more details on Carolyn's session that runs from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. Carolyn has suggestions that will help you and her connect with your departed loved ones.

May 25, 2014 has Laugh Out Loud class with Iggy Garcia at the Christian Spiritualist Temple. This is a church Meetup Group event as well. Iggy is a leader of the Nemenhah clan. He teaches a class on relief of stress through laughing as part of his shamanism course. The class will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The suggested donation is $20 for the two hour class. Open to the public.

June 21, 2014 Summer Solstice Recital by Dr. Marc Heeg
At the time of the summer solstice, Dr. Heeg will perform classical music at the Christian Spiritualist Temple. Dr. Heeg has performed classical music recitals around the world. This concert will be from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Suggested donation is $10 to $20. You can be aware of other Community Events on the church website. Selections will be chosen by Dr. Heeg and his spirit guides, and announced soon.
