Located on San Fernando between 2nd street and 3rd street, the Cinebar is easy enough to miss if you aren’t paying attention as only a single door leads into this hallway of a dive.
Walls that once contained murals of popular icons such as Frida, Al Pachino and Storm Troopers, at the Cinebar, are now covered in torn posters with colorful phrases written across them in marker. Intentional or not, it’s become a permanent part of the decor at the Cinebar and perhaps even adds to its unique charm.
While the Cinebar may not be the most luxurious of hot spots, this dive always packs the room, no matter if it’s a Tuesday or a Friday night. Cinebar fills up fast, so chances are if you’re not their early or during the day, you may find yourself waiting quite a while before you’re able to make it back to the bar for that second drink – or perhaps even your first!
But have no fear, good conversation is easy enough to find here, as long as you’re willing to shout for it. With so many new and regular faces each night, it’s a perfect place to start or end your evening pub crawl in San Jose.
