The San Diego International Auto Show is a great way to start your New Year, seeing the newest cars that are being released for the upcoming year. They say 'the cars are the stars', and that is certainly true. And there are other areas of the show that should be on your list to check out.
Mobility zone: We may not think about it, but both motorcycles and cars can be modified to give people with disabilities the ability to own and operate a vehicle. The mobility zone shows many different makes and models and what goes into the modification for those needing handicap access.
Exotics vault: Check out some of the most exotic, and expensive, cars available. While you cannot touch or get into the vehicle, they make for a great backdrop for your photo.
Ride and drive: Several manufacturers have test drive areas set up just outside the convention center, where you can actually take a vehicle for a short spin (current driver's license required, of course). For those who want to try their driving skills as a race car driver, Ford has a fast paced thrill ride simulator you will not want to miss.
Classic car line-up: With the 50th anniversary of the Ford Mustang fast approaching, take a visual trip down memory lane and check out the Mustang presentation that will certainly get the cameras out for some great shots.
Eco center: The 'Think Blue' Eco Center showcases an interesting range of vehicles, including hydrogen and alternate fuel models that will impact the car of tomorrow.
The show runs through Sunday, so start of your New Year with an auto experience to remember.
