Start Here. Where? With hope. "Let us be firm and unswerving in the confession of our hope, for the Giver of the promise may be trusted." That is what the writer of Hebrews writes and there is no command, no hook, no call to action with this hope. It is unconditional hope. A great way to start if you are a constant worrier. It is also the place to begin seeking support through fellowship. At the regroup conference in Denver yesterday that hope was apparent. The idea of delivering a message to a city like Denver and how to deliver it with love was compelling and contagious. The idea that evangelism starts with love that is built in true- hope, is the message and you can trust the Giver of the promise! When you move the game pieces and begin to strategist on where the message needs to begin- start here. At the corner of Colfax and Colorado, in the middle of Five Points at Larimer and 23rd! In Park Hill and at City Park; Chessman Park and Washington Park back to Sloans Lake and at the corner of 8th and York, and shout it from the backstop at Congress Park and to the banks of Cherry Creek.
Support the Mission: "We out to see how each of us may best arouse others to love and active goodness, not staying away from our meetings, as some do, but rather encouraging each other, all the more because you see the day drawing near." The writer of the letter to the Hebrews confirms the signs of the times and it is also seen here. Not some weird prediction but the signs that Jesus talked about. Good will be framed as evil; love will be defined as hate; correction and challenge will be taken as bigotry and yet we are to remain "hopeful." And in the middle of Denver we are hopeful! Prayer support, financial support and fellowship support is what separates humanity and God's plan from "evolution." The point being made is that people get worship, conversation and prayer, music, education and community when they regularly are part of organic; healthy relationships through fellowship. When people forsake, reject or isolate themselves; they are subject to their own thoughts and emotions, shuttered up physically and emotionally. When people are free from just their own thoughts; exchange of ideas; are correctable, and challenge-able, then as the writer writes "can receive the knowledge of truth."
Sustain Music: In the house church in Denver everyone is encouraged by the music and the message and the are compelled to start again. The song is a prayer; it reflects the message, it is used to encourage and to be shared in the city. "It is the integration of the message of the gospel, with a regular fellowship and friendship fueled by the songs and poems that the music is shared in the city. Start with entering in with fellowship, supporting the mission that makes it hard for people in Denver to experience Hell; and then sustain it by sharing the music; continuing in fellowship and encouraging each other to the purpose each one brings to the community.
