I want to be real with you- I don't like watching awards shows. I only remembered that the Golden Globes happened because I saw it on twitter this morning. However, I love to talk about stars and clothes so I gathered my favorite looks from the parade of red carpet couture.
Emily Blunt looked like the perfect trophy in her gold columnar Michael Kors. Discreet cutouts at the waist lent a modest sexiness to Mrs. Krasinksi's outfit.
Jennifer Lopez sparkled in Zuhair Hadid. Megan Fox and Amy Adams did retro movie star in pale dresses that involved lots of tulle. Katherine McPhee of Smash looked major in her black Theyskens' Theory gown with the plunging neckline.
Chopard was the jeweler of the night, appearing on Amy Poehler (in Stella McCartney), Jennifer Laurance, Marion Cotilard and more. Zooey Deschanel, always different, went with Kwiat.
Red and more red marched down the carpet on Zooey, Jennifer Lawrence, and Marion Cotillard. Helen Mirren and Kate Hudson wore lookalike black and gold. Jolie-ing was a trend, as Eva Longoria (in Pucci), Halle Berry, Rosie Huntington-Whitely all showed their legs for the cause.
Arielle Winter showcased lacy florals in Valentino and Lucy Liu wore the whole garden in Carolina Herrera's full skirted, floor length gown with pockets. It reminded me a little of SJP's flowered frock at the Met Ball last year.
Ichose the looks that I liked, and left out the things that I wasn't crazy about. At any event, whether it's a wedding or the Golden Globes, you do your best and sometimes what you wear isn't as great as you thought it might be. It really doesn't matter though. You could have the best dress in the room and not win anything (or not be the bride). At the end of the day, it's the work and the talent that win.
