Helen - What makes you any better or more special than any other band?
Parker Jameson - It is all subjective. We write music for ourselves. We combine a lot of European influences into our work.
Helen - Does the brand of pick make a difference in the sound?
Parker - Most definitely. From every component, from the pick to pick ups. A 3mm pick gives you video game sound. Although the Jazz 3 is super tiny, it is perfect for that super clean sound. Shred tech guitarists you it. It was a process of elimination before I found th pick that was right for me.
Helen - Who inspired you to play the guitar and how do you use that inspiration today?
Parker - I would say that Paul Gilbert is my biggest inspiration, along with Brandon Small and Children Of Bodem. Their inspiration has led my path of songwriting and playing the Lead Guitar for Starkill.
Helen - Today you are on the rise to stardom, how do you keep that momentum going?
Parker - We love to play our music, but the public perception drives us. Mainly we do not think too much and we have an internal focus. We love touring!
Helen - Your day is here and now. What does Starkill want to be perceived as and looked upon as?
Parker - Ideally we would like to be a super Melodic Metal Band. Starkill is filling a gap in Death Metal. That they enjoy our music.
Helen - Taking part in Shreds Of Insanity in August, has it increased your fan base?
Parker - Yes. We have had a lot of hits on You Tube. We are meeting a lot of new people. It is pretty cool.
Helen - Many people have helped get you where you are today, is there anyone that you would like to say Thank You to?
Parker - 1st and foremost is the band, the entire campus of Indiana University at Bloomington, Perfect Cut Production, Faculty of Indiana University, my parents, Our management company, the record label, and everyone that helped in the recording process. Thank You.
