According to a June 24 report from ProWrestling.net, Stardust will be teaming with Goldust for a tag-team bout against Ryback and Curtis Axel this weekend at the WWE Money in the Bank pay-per-view in Boston. The bout was confirmed during the June 24 episode of WWE Main Event, which aired exclusively on the WWE Network.
Ryback was seen on-air issuing a challenge to Stardust and Goldust. While The Brotherhood was not spotted on camera officially agreeing to the match, it was assumed by WWE Universe to be on like Donkey Kong. In general, babyface characters look weak if they turn down an official challenge from a heel, so it is to be assumed that Stardust and Goldust will indeed battle Ryback and Curtis Axel at WWE Money in the Bank this weekend.
The booking represents an interesting turn of events for The Brotherhood, a group that seemed to be on the verge of splitting up just a few weeks ago. Cody Rhodes briefly split with Goldust when he decided that he wasn't good enough as a teammate. As the weeks went on, Goldust tried out several WWE superstars to be his new tag-team partner. After it was clear that nothing was clicking, Goldust recruited Rhodes to return to the fold.
However, there was a major twist that no one in WWE Universe expected. Rhodes rejoined The Brotherhood as Stardust, an entirely new character. Stardust has been a huge hit so far with pro wrestling fans, and he's only been on the scene for two weeks. Since Stardust has gotten over with the fans, the WWE decided to book the new Brotherhood tag-team for a bout against Ryback and Axel at WWE Money in the Bank.
The Brotherhood vs. Rybaxel rounds out a stacked WWE Money in the Bank card that includes two ladder matches, plus a WWE Divas bout between Paige and Naomi. Also on the card, Jimmy and Jey Uso put their WWE tag-team belts on the line against Erick Rowan and Luke Harper of The Wyatt Family. WWE Money in the Bank goes down June 29 at TD Garden in Boston.
