The latest buzz for the Disneyland concerns what the coffee Disney guests will be able to buy for their caffeine fix inside the Anaheim, Calif. theme park. On March 19, the Disney Parks Blog announced Disneyland Park will open a Starbucks location at “the happiest place on Earth.”
Starbucks will be located at Market House, the Main Street store that has been part of Disneyland since 1955. Market House currently offers a selection of Disney baked goods and coffee, the latter coming with the fresh perk of free refills.
When the Market House re-opens this fall it will retain its theming as a turn-of-the-century general store, including its phones, stove and checkerboards and some of the merchandise. According to the Disney Parks Blog, Market House will serve both Starbucks products and “a selection of specialty Disney pastries.”
Once becoming a Starbucks location, however, Market House will no longer serve Disney branded coffee or offer free refills. That said, Erin Glover, Manager, Social Media and Print, Disneyland Resort, notes Disney coffee will be available for purchases at several Disneyland Resort merchandise locations.
Market House will close next month to begin the transition, which includes an expansion into the space where Disneyana merchandise is currently available.
To accommodate the Market House expansion, the Disney collectibles and artwork will move to the Bank of Main Street building and home to The Disney Gallery. The new location will continue to offer a rotating Gallery Exhibit.
A Starbucks location is already open at Disney California Adventure. Called the Fiddler, Fifer and Practical Café, it themed to its location on Buena Vista Street. The café serves a combination of Starbucks drinks and specialty foods as well as select Disney treats.
Walt Disney World Resort will also open two Starbucks locations at its theme parks later this summer: at Magic Kingdom’s Main Street Bakery and at Epcot’s Future World, where Fountain View is located.
