Fall is coming early this year....at least at Starbucks. A People article dated Mon. Aug. 18 revealed that the sought after Pumpkin Spice Latte will be returning to Starbucks, Tues. Aug. 26. With the popular drink making its way back to America's favorite coffee shop, extreme latte lovers may be wise to secure their place in line now.
The official nationwide launch is Sept. 2, but according to my calculations, this Aug. 26 business is exactly one week earlier.
The savory autumn drink is topped with sweetened whipped cream and pumpkin pie bits. Even Jimmy Fallon caught wind of it's early return.
“I saw that Starbucks is bringing back its fall drink the Pumpkin Spice Latte a month early this year because nothing says summer refreshments like a piping hot cup of caffeinated squash.”
With summer still going on, it may seem a little early for Pumpkins, leaves falling, football, trick or treat and sweatshirts, but as we know, the seasons seem to roll around a little quicker these days.
Pumpkin Spice Lattes even have their own Twitter: @TheRealPSL, which includes an online scavenger hunt to find out where the drink is arriving next.
In case you haven't heard, nothing says 2014 like Starbucks adding an order ahead feature to their mobile app.
If you're not an active participant in the PSL craze, your wallet will thank you. However, for PSL loyals, this unexpected early launch = pure bliss.
