'Star Wars Rebels': First look video and new series characters

"Star Wars Rebels" unveiled a video of a human character for the new series. Kanan, the Cowboy Jedi, is to be voiced by Freddie Prinze, Jr. According to the Peoria Journal Star on Feb 14, this is the very first human character for the series revealed by Disney.

Forced underground by Order 66 (which decreed the genocide of Jedis in Revenge of the Sith), Kanan is forced to keep his Jedi ways secret.

"Star Wars Rebels" will debut later this year. It will hopefully make up for the loss of the beloved animated series, "Star Wars: The Clone Wars." The new series is intended to bridge the gap between the two movie trilogies.

Kanan, in "Star Wars Rebels," will be a different kind of Jedi. He will also be in charge of the ship "Ghost." In addition to Kanan, another human primary character will be introduced, Ezra.

Acording to the Granite Falls Advocate Tribune on Feb. 14, another new human character, Ezra, is an energetic teen that knows how to use the Force, but doesn't yet realize what his powers actually are. He lives on his home planet of Lothal and has little interest in the Rebellion. But of course that is all about to change for him. The influence of the imperial rule of Darth Vader comes to his world and he will be forced to react.
