It has been some shaky times for Star Wars Episode VII. The anticipated next chapter in the Star Wars saga saw a major set back a few weeks back when legendary actor Harrison Ford suffered an injury on the set. It is likely because of this incident that an announcement has been made on the film's production and that Episode VII will be going on a two week hiatus. Lucasfilm mention this break during a statement they made just the other day.

In August, the team will take a brief two-week hiatus while adjustments to the current production schedule are made as actor Harrison Ford recovers from a leg injury. Harrison is doing well and is looking forward to returning to the set soon.

So what does this mean for the progression of Episode VII? The hiatus no doubt make sense in the case of Harrison Ford, but could this set back lead to another push back for the film's release? While this may change the production of the film, it is likely that director JJ Abrams and Lucasfilms are still aiming for the December 2015 release. The production may get a little complicated, but the film should have no problem making to it planned release.

While this set back may be disconcerting to many fans, there is some good news for Episode VII. Along with the announcement of the hiatus, Lucasfilms also mentioned that the Episode VII has added two new actors for the upcoming film. The studio announced that Crystal Clarke and Pip Anderson have joined the cast of Episode VII. These two new stars are relatively unknown to the general audience, however Lucasfilm is very excited to add these two actors to the upcoming Star Wars chapter.

Crystal Clarke is an American actress studying in Glasgow, UK, who has both stage and screen acting experience and is soon to be seen in her first feature, "The Moon and the Sun" (to be released in 2015). British actor Pip Anderson is a skilled practitioner of parkour, a discipline that involves propelling oneself through any given environment with incredible grace and agility. Pip recently demonstrated this remarkable skill in a Spider-Man ad for Sony.

“The Star Wars universe has always been about discovering and nurturing young talent and in casting Episode VII we wanted to remain absolutely faithful to this tradition. We are delighted that so many travelled to see us at the open casting calls and that we have been able to make Crystal and Pip a part of the film,” said producer and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy.

This report alone may give viewers an idea on what kind of characters both these stars will be playing. However, more to the point, this update to Episode VII's cast shows moviegoers that Lucasfilms wants younger actor to play a major role in this film's production. Perhaps this casting updates shows signs of a passing of the torch direction for the upcoming film, and that stars like Clarke and Anderson will be playing a big role in the Star Wars franchise in the years to come. In any case, Crystal Clarke and Pip Anderson join the cast of Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong'o and Gwendoline Christie.

What do you think of these updates? Will the hiatus be a major set back to the film? Who do you think the two new actors will play? Express your opinion in the comments section below. Star Wars Episode VII is set to hit theaters on December 18, 2015.
