BREAKING NEWS!!! Finally the wait for the main cast of the upcoming Star Wars film has been officially announced. Walt Disney alongside Lucasfilm have released the news much earlier than predicted by the fans. Rumors swirled around the date of May the 4th a.k.a. ‘Star Wars Day’ to be the exclusive release for such momentous news. Fortunately for all, the wait is over.

Returning from the original trilogy will be Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Peter Mayhem (the walking carpet Chewbacca) and Kenny Baker as R2-D2.

New to the Star Wars universe is Oscar Isaac (Inside Llewyn Davis), John Boyega (Attack the Block), Adam Driver (Girls), Andy Serkis (The Lord of the Rings), Daisy Ridley (Scrawl), Domhnall Gleeson (Bill Weasley from Harry Potter series), and Max von Sydow (The Exorcist).

Director J.J. Abrams says, "We are so excited to finally share the cast of 'Star Wars: Episode VII.' It is both thrilling and surreal to watch the beloved original cast and these brilliant new performers come together to bring this world to life, once again. We start shooting in a couple of weeks, and everyone is doing their best to make the fans proud."

Star Wars: Episode VII is being directed by J.J. Abrams from a screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan and Abrams. Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams, and Bryan Burk are producing, and John Williams returns as the composer. The movie opens worldwide on December 18, 2015.
