Star Wars comes to Winston, Star Wars comes to your kitchen

On May 27, 1977, George Lucas began a new era in history by releasing Star Wars IV: A New Hope.  Little did the world know then that the gripping tale of the Sith versus the Jedi would dominate the silver screens for generations to come...and now it can also dominate your kitchen.

To celebrate the release of Star Wars I: The Phantom Menace in 3-D, which premiered in theatres on Friday, Williams-Sonoma has created an entire Star Wars Collection.  Star Wars fans (from the young to the young at heart) can creating their own Stormtroopers and Yodas--not on the silver screen, but on the baking sheet.

There are several collections of Star Wars figures you can choose from: there are Heroes & Villains (Yoda, Boba Fett, Darth Vader, and a Stormtrooper) cookie cutters and pancake molds, along with the Droids & Aliens (R2-D2, C-3PO, Chewbacca, and a Jawas) cookie cutters set.  If that's a bit too cannabilistic for you, there is also the Star Wars Vehicles cookie cutters (Millennium Falcon, Vader's TIE Fighter, X-wing Fighter and Death Star) and pancake molds (Jedi’s Knight’s X-Wing Fighter, Darth Vader’ Tie Fighter and Han Solo’s Millenium Falcon).

Continue the Star Wars trend with Star Wars decorating cupcake kits (Rebel Alliance or Galactic Empire--get both and have them battle it out), and the cupcake stencil set.  These would be perfect for a Star Wars-themed party!

And if you truly love Star Wars (i.e. are willing to decorate your kitchen with it), Williams-Sonoma has created R2-D2, Stormtrooper, and Darth Vader spatulas, along with kid and adult-sized aprons.  (Personally, I think I could flatten my Death Star pancake with R2-D2!)

Oh.  Last but not least.  Send your kids to school (or yourself...we don't judge around here) off right with Star Wars sandwich cutters (they even come in a cute vintage-style tin!)  Sandwiches can now look like the Millennium Falcom and Darth Vader’s TIE fighter.

Hard to see, the dark side is, but your love of Star Wars can be plain as day with all of these fun kitchen tools.  Pick them up at the Hanes Mall Williams-Sonoma, located at 3320 Silas Creek Parkway in Winston-Salem, or order online at www.williams-sonoma.com.
