Painless Laser Epidermal System (P.L.E.S.), also pronounced "PLEASE", has taken what used to be a paintful injection that causes most people to cringe into a painless procedure.
Cleared for sale in Europe, this device uses lasers to deliver exactly what the doctor prescribes. Dr. McCoy's painless hypospray used in almost every episode of Star Trek now is reality.
The procedure is meant to deliver drugs through laser technology, effectively making tiny holes in your skin through which medication is absorbed. No bloody cotton balls or band-aides. Unlike Dr. McCoy's version that makes a small air pushing sound, PLEASE is completely silent.
Gene Roddenberry would be proud of this achievement!

What if I want the hissing noise?
Well they have been experimenting with noise generators in electric cars to make sure people can hear them coming, I'm sure they can add a speaker and a "pshht!" noise to these things too. ;)
Painless and silent? How do you know it worked?
Well, this is the first iteration. Little do they know that the hypospray also started off without the hiss sound, but people didnt believe it worked so they added it in with gen 2 hypospray.
What if it blows your arm off?
